Operation
- Q.
- After closing the door, it is not opened again. Or the door cannot be locked as the door is pulled.
- A.
- It is because the chamber is vacuumed due to the negative pressure inside as it is cooled.
In this case, the Vacuum relief port on the side of the main body will automatically absorb the air into the chamber.
In 1 to 3 minutes, the vacuum will be relieved and door can be opened.
(※ But, when the door is opened and closed too often or is used in humid area Vacuum relief port can be clogged with ice, significantly preventing proper function. Therefore, it is recommended Vacuum relief port be cleaned periodically to remove the ice.)
- Q.
- Is it warm around the outside door of the cryogenic freezer? Is it normal?
- A.
- This function is to remove the frost that may occur around the outside of the door as Rim Heating System works. Please don't be anxious.
- Q.
- In the initial start-up after installed, the machine is restarted while displaying "C.HOT" alarm on the control panel. Isn't it broken?
- A.
- This occurred because during initial operation, the ambient temperature is so high that the first heat exchanger could not reach -20 degrees(T / C active), or as the load is increased during the second operation of a compressor, leading to the rise in the temperature of the primary heat exchanger and turning T / C actuve. This will cause an alarm to be activated.
This phenomenon will disappear automatically after 2 to 3 times of automatic operation.
- Q.
- After closing the door of a freezer, the sound emanating from entering the outside air is sucked through the side hole, is that normal?
- A.
- Yes, it is normal. This occurs because outside air is sucked into the inside and the pressure is equalized because of a pressure difference due to the temperature difference within and outside.
The sound will stop after a few seconds.
- Q.
- Is it alright to put the sample in before refrigeration while test running?/dd>
- A.
- Do not inject the sample in a test run. Operate unloaded when in trial run.
Inject one-third of the sample two to three days after the temperature reaches the set temperature for stabilization.
Then add another one-third when more stabilized.
- Q.
- Can I touch it with bare hands when taking out the sample inside the freezer?
- A.
- When you work with the freezer opened, there is a risk of getting frostbite and burn.
So please wear personal protective equipment(gloves for special purpose).
- Q.
- How do I take measures when the temperature rises above the normal temperature in the use of the freezer?
- A.
- 1. Move the sample to a safe place immediately.(We will not be liable for the sample stored in the cryogenic freezer.
A sample administrator should keep the sample safe by preparing a freezer or dry ice considering an emergency.)
2. Check the indoor temperature, air circulation, whether the filter and condenser is clear of dust, power supply voltage, and whether a fan motor / compressor are running and document mechanical failure symptoms, set temperature, current temperature at regular intervals of 5-10 minutes for at least 1 hour.
3. Disconnect the power plug when temperature keep rising.
4. Register A / S for the failures of equipment.
- Q.
- Is there emergency meawures to protect the sample when a sudden equipment failure or a power failure occurs?
- A.
- The machine can malfunction at any time without notice. So, in order to keep the sample safe, you need to prepare thoroughly before buying a freezer.
* Measures against temperature rise due to electricity and equipment failure : There should be alternative measures prepared in 3~4 hours.
Emergency measures
- 1. Preventing a rise in temperature by setting up a back-up system and injecting L.CO2 or L.N2. (needed to order together with the equipment)
- 2. Putting dry ice into the freezer
- 3. Preserving in DEWAR VESSEL for liquid nitrogen( short response time)(3-4 hours)
- Q.
- What are the first aid procedures for a specific situation ?
- A. (1).
-
When a power is out for a long time
① Movement of the sample
② Automatic restart when power returns
- A (2).
-
Freezer at fault ( fault occurs in normal use)
① Movement of the sample
② check the symptoms (check compressor or fan motor operation, record other symptoms and the current status)
③ Unplug or power off
④ A / S register
- A (3).
-
Temporary temperature increase in normal operation / decreasing cooling power
① When ambient temperature is too high (+ 27 ° C ~ + 30 ° C recommended), or no air circulation, unstable power supply or too dusty filter blocking flow, temperature rises / cooling capacity is reduced.
② Recommended ambient temperature maintenance , air circulation keeping ( fans , air conditioning , door open , etc.) , a reliable electricity supply , clean the filter
③ Move the sample at improving symptoms US
④ Plug or unplug the power off
⑤ A / S register
- A (4).
-
When cooling doesn't work in a test run :
① Is the wall and freezer too near?
② Is the ambient temperature too higher than recommended temperature(+27 degrees)?
③ Is the installation space too narrow or closed to prevent air circulation or intake and exhaust?
④ Is the power supply out of rated voltage (AC208V ~ 230V) Or is there a low voltage start failure occurred at the moment of start due to momentary voltage drop?
⑤ Is electricity supplied too less than the power consumption and starting load?
⑥ Is it powered by a multi-tap?
⑦ Is the wire too thin and long? (more than DFU/DFC ? 3.5sq)
⑧ Is it exposed to direct sunlight or a radiator?
- A (5).
-
The temperature rises and reduces between -70 ℃/ -80℃ and becomes -40 ℃ / -50 ℃ (based on -80 degrees grade freezer)
#. This mainly comes from the following causes.
① If the ambient temperature is too high ( normal : + 27 ° C or less ) - turn on the air conditioner or uplift a fan from the front towards the back of the machine.
② If a condenser or a filter are too dusty- remove the dust on them.
③ If the rotation speed of a fan motor is slow or (if thread or hair is caught), if it is stopped due to a failure - After turning power off, replace the FAN MOTOR.
④ If it is too closed to the wall(keep distance of more than 30CM to ensure ventilation)
⑤ if the inside temperature went up as it is installed in a narrow space - Take appropriate actions not to raise the temperature including by checking ventilation facility or air-conditioning.
⑥ If problems occur regardless of the content from 1-4 - contact the head office.
- A (6).
-
if you hear a very loud noise than usual, when the freezer is operating.
① locate the source of noise generation.
If vibration is caused by the bolt or copper tube, and lags being loosened, fix them firmly.
② Check whether the noise occurs from the freezer or FAN MOTOR. It the culprit is the fan motor, turn off the switch and change the fan motor and restart.
③ If the noise came from the freezer, it is caused by higher pressure at the high tension side.
The high voltage end gets higher when
    a) The condenser is so dusty that it cannot consense due to the failure of cooling.
    b) As the fan motor malfunctions, it cannot condense or cool the freezer, causing the freezer to overheat.
    c) As the ambient temperature increases, it fails to condense.
